World War II ended in 1945. England won the war. It caused a great deal of damage to England. The nationwide struggle for India's independence, the armed struggle waged by the revolutionaries, the armed struggle waged by the Azad Hind Sena undermined the foundations of British rule in India, so the British decided to hand over the administration of India to the Indians. For this, he started talks with Indian leaders.

On 18 July 1947, the British Parliament passed the Indian Independence Act. This Act divided India and created two separate nations, India and Pakistan.

August 15, 1947 was the day of India's independence. After midnight on August 14, the British 'Union Jack' flag was lowered in Delhi and the tricolor flag of independent India was hoisted there. India became independent from British slavery. This was the result of the immense sacrifice of millions of Indians. On this historic occasion, the first Prime Minister of independent India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, said in his speech, “Many years ago, we made an agreement with destiny. Today we are fulfilling it to a great extent. India is being born in a new era of independence when the whole world is asleep in the quiet of midnight. "

Organization's fight for the liberation of the people:

India became independent, but the Indian War of Independence was not over. There were many small institutions in the British monarchy. Some feudal lords were doing injustice to their subjects. Institutional people had started a movement against it. The people wanted the institution to be merged into independent India. Due to the strong role and diplomacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Home Minister of independent India, most of the institutions merged with India. Pakistani forces began to infiltrate Kashmir. At that time Kashmir merged with India and the people of Junagadh decided to merge with India.

Hyderabad Liberation War:

Hyderabad was the largest institution in India. The Sansthanika of this Sansthan was called Nizam. He oppressed the people. The people fought fiercely against the uncontrolled rule of the Nizam. This battle was led by Swami Ramananda Tirtha, Govindbhai Shroff etc. The movement was started on behalf of the Hyderabad State Congress. It was attended by hundreds of students. Women like Ashatai Waghmare, Sushilabai Diwan, Kaveribai Bodhankar, Saraswati Borikar etc. were also involved in this fight. The people of Sansthani demanded that the Hyderabad Sansthan be merged with India, but the Nizam was of the view that the Sansthan should be kept separate. He arrogantly challenged the government of independent India. At that time, the Indian government took police action against the Nizam. On September 17, 1948, the State of Hyderabad merged with India. The struggle waged by the people of Sansthani was successful.

Merger of French colonies:

Although British rule in India came to an end, parts of India were still under the control of foreign powers. After partition, France ruled over Chandranagar, Pondicherry, Karikal, Mahe and Yanam. After India gained independence, the French government negotiated with the Indian government and ceded its territories to India.

Goa Liberation War:

Goa, Diu and Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli were ruled by the Portuguese. The Indian people had to fight for the liberation of that region. In this fight, Dr. T. B. Kunha was at the forefront. After the independence of India, a concerted effort was made to end the Portuguese rule in India. In the liberation struggle of Goa, Dr. Leaders like Ram Manohar Lohia, Nanasaheb Gore, Hirveguruji, Senapati Bapat, Madhu Limaye, Sudhir Phadke, Mohan Ranade, Sudhatai Joshi, Sindhutai Deshpande etc. were in the forefront. Squads of many Satyagrahis of Goa Mukti Samiti from Maharashtra entered Goa. The Portuguese tried to suppress them; But the Satyagrahis continued their fight. Goa was finally liberated by the Indian Army on 19 December 1961 from the Portuguese.

This history of our country's freedom struggle is very inspiring. This struggle was against oppression and injustice. Was to free itself from the yoke of Western imperialism. Our freedom struggle inspired many countries in the world to fight against injustice. Many patriots renounced their homeland to free it from foreign domination. We have inherited the precious legacy of freedom, democracy and gender equality from the freedom struggle. It is the responsibility of each one of us to save it.
