Bajiprabhu Deshpande

Brave Sardar Bajiprabhu Deshpande, who sacrificed his life for the cause of Swarajya and laid the foundation of Hindavi Swarajya

Bajiprabhu Deshpande is as old as Sahyadri in Hirdus Mavla in Bhor taluka of Pune district. Seeing his administrative skills and bravery, Maharaj accepted this all-round personality. Even at the age of fifty, Warji, who worked tirelessly for 20-22 hours, was very dominant in the entire Maval region. Maharaj who was trapped in the siege of Panhalgad and at the same time Shahistekhan who was knocking on the gate of Swarajya became aware. On that night of 12th July 1660 ... Maharaj Babu, who was in possession of a sword, fell out of the fort along with Deshpai. Suddenly, Siddi Masood's horsemen shouted from Kho Sidd. At the same time, Bajiprabhuni explained his plan as a father and sent Maharaj to Vishalgad. While Masood's army was obstructing Ghod Khindi, Baji was standing like a mountain with a sword in both hands and was attacking the enemy. A fierce battle ... a fierce battle ... Baji's body was like a hero. There Maharaj was trying to go to Vishalgad. Finally Maharaj reached the fort once. Baji was shifted to Parthiv. Gajapur Ghat was soaked with blood. In the meantime ... Basha heard the sound of gunfire on Vishalgad, saying that he had received blessings, the enemies attacked Warji's body and the idol of Baji decorated with stones and wounds collapsed. Baji joins hands looking at the sky. On 13th July 1660, Ghodkhind of Gajapur became Pavankhind. Expressing the last anguish in Warji's mind, the poet Kusumagraj says, "When will the war take place, Lord, where is this breath, where is the wound?" Pavankhindi's step-by-step, pinched body, last moment of surrender, Bolavasilaka now at home? When will this war begin, Lord, where is this breath?
