Shivaraya's education

Beginning of Shivaraya's education: Shahaji Raje himself was a great scholar of Sanskrit. He had given shelter to pundits and artists of many languages in his Bangalore court. He had appointed clever teachers for Shivaraya. There he began his education at the age of seven. In a short time, Shivrai became proficient in the art of reading and writing. He started reading stories from Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagwat himself. Shahaji Raja had appointed some teachers to teach martial arts to Shivaraya. He started teaching Shivaraya the art of horse riding, wrestling, swinging the sword, wielding the sword, etc. Thus Shivaraya was introduced to various arts and crafts till the age of twelve, soon Adilshah sent Shahaji Raja on a mission to conquer the heroic kingdoms of Karnataka. Before going on this expedition, Shahaji Raja sent Jijau and Shivrai to Pune Jahagiri. At that time, Shahaji Raja accompanied him with elephants, horses, infantry, treasures, flags, as well as faithful chief brave warriors and famous teachers.

Transformation of Pune: Jijau and Shivrai came to Pune. Shivaraya remembered his childhood days. He had played in the soil of Shivneri as a child. They saw the high peaks of Sahyadri again. They were very happy. The Pune of that time was not as big as it is today. This beautiful village was deserted by the enemies of Shahaji Raja. The village property was destroyed. Houses were broken, temples were demolished. People had fled the village for fear of the enemy. The fields were deserted. The forests had grown. There were wolves in the forest. Such was the misery of Pune. When the people of the surrounding villages came to know that Jijabai started living in Pune with Shivaraya, they became very patient. Jijabai called them closer and consoled them. People started coming and living in Pune. Began to go to the field. Jijabai repaired the fallen temples. Morning and evening worship started in the temples. The villagers began to throng. So the look of Pune changed. .

Performance of Dadaji Konddev: While Jijau and Shivrai were in Karnataka, Dadaji Konddev was looking after the arrangement of Pune Jahagiri here.  He was also the Subhedar of Kondhana.  He was a great faithful servant.  He was fair, and he was fair.  His discipline was strict.  They were loyal.  During this period a large fort was built in Pune by the order of Shahaji Raja.  His name is Lal Mahal.  Farmers should cultivate in the fields, so Dadaji gave them the exemption of farming for a few years.  So the fields came into cultivation.  The wolves were harassing the farmers, so they offered rewards for killing the wolves.  So many wolves were killed.  The thieves were on the prowl.  Dadaji set up squads of farmers and guarded them.  Dealt with thieves.  The people were happy that Sarah had sorted out the land by grading it.  The work of Dadaji Konddev and Nizamshahi Wazir Malik Amber is considered to be invaluable and fundamental in the field of agricultural reform and recovery.

Shivaraya's education: Although Shivaraya came to Pune Jahagiri, his education continued under the supervision of Jijabai.  How to do good governance, how to fight the enemy, how to build forts, how to test horses and elephants, how to escape from the enemy's remote areas, etc., many Via Shivarayas became aware.  Jijau was very happy to see this progress of Shivaraya in education.

Veermata Jijabai's teaching to Shivaraya: Jijabai was no ordinary woman.  She was the daughter of a powerful chief like Lakhujirao Jadhav and the wife of a mighty man like Shahaji Raj.  Jijabai had learned the basics of politics from an early age.  The fighting tradition of both the famous families of Jadhav and Bhosale had come together in their place.  Jijabai was very self-respecting and freedom-loving.  No matter how much the Maratha chief did, he had a bad experience that it does not happen in the court of the sultans.  The Nizamshah had assassinated his father at the Bhar Darbar.  He had digested his sorrow.  Jijabai had now decided that her Shivba would not serve such foreigners.  He will establish the kingdom of his people.  She was shaping Shivaraya with this thought.  Shivaraya was moved by this advice of his mother.  He remembers the stories of Rama, Krishna, Bhima, Arjuna.  These heroic Shivarayas constantly see meditation, money, dreams.  We must fight as these heroes fought against injustice.  We should do as they destroyed the wicked.  He made the people happy, so we should do it, we should be just, we should be brave, we should be mighty.

Shivaraya's new execution: Shivaraya's new execution has started in Pune Jahagiri now under the guidance of Jijabai. Shahaji Raja had prepared for this work. When he sent Shivaraya from Bangalore to Pune, he was accompanied by Samraj Neelkanth Peshwa, Balkrishna Hanmante Mujumdar, Mankoji Dahatonde Sarnobat, Raghunath Ballal Sabnis, Sonopant Dabir. It is as if they were all independent kingdoms. Shahaji Raja had sent these officers to Pune so that Shivaji could take care of his affairs. With his help, Shivrai took charge of Jahagiri. People began to pay attention to the things of happiness and sorrow. Those who did injustice to the ryots began to be punished. In a way, Shahaji Raja's Jahagiri was undergoing a transformation. The Mavals could see the pattern of Swarajya that was about to take place. As if it was the dawn of Swarajya!

Shivaraya's marriage: At that time it was customary to get married at a very young age, when Jijamata said, "Now Shiva should do both hands." Then he started looking for girls for Shiva.  One girl liked them.  Her name is Saibai.  She is a girl from Naik Nimbalkar family of Phaltan.  The wedding was celebrated with great pomp.
